Baghmara Pitcher Plant Sanctuary

Baghmara Pitcher Plant Sanctuary is located in South Garo Hills District of Indian state Meghalaya. The sanctuary is named after a rare insectivorous Pitcher Plant (Nepenthes khasiana)which is endemic to this region only. The localites Garos regard this as a sacred plant.In-situ conservation of Pitcher Plant is carried out in Baghmara Pitcher Plant Sanctuary(BPPS).

The sanctuary was designated in 1984.

Best time of visit is from November to March.
